The app starts with a simple list of recent contacts and also includes a Settings section (for your data and security notifications) and an Open on Phone option.

You can view previous messages in chats, save voice messages and system keyboard to reply. Swiping all the way to the end in group chats lets you see the participant list and also gives you the option to “Open on phone”.

The setup process involves entering an eight-digit code from your watch into the phone app.

Best of all, you can sign up for the WhatsApp beta test for Wear OS. Make sure both your Android smartphone and watch are running version 2.23.10.10+.
