Brykin noted that such a diet is rich in fatty acids, vitamins and minerals. All this, in turn, helps to prevent the development of cancer and atherosclerosis.

The expert also noted that the inhabitants of Italy and Spain consume a large amount of vegetables, fruits and herbs that contribute to the normalization of the digestive system.

At the same time, the nutritionist recalled that there are centuries-old people in the Caucasus, whose diet consists of a large amount of fried red meat. Brykin said that although this type of meat can increase cancer risk, Caucasians have been eating this meat for centuries and their intestines are adapted to digest it.
