The issue affected electronic components, body positions, interior parts, engine assemblies, cylinder heads, and transmission assemblies, as well as unique parts for Hyundai, Audi, BMW, Jaguar, Lexus, and Cadillac.

Lack of spare parts and complicated logistics affected prices. Since the beginning of 2023, the cost of spare parts and accessories has increased from 5% to 10% depending on the brand and category, Izvestia learned.

The shortage of spare parts will be felt at least until the end of the year, experts believe. At the same time, market participants fear that the transit established by friendly countries could be disrupted by the threat of secondary sanctions.

  • In early May, Western car manufacturers limited the functionality of their apps for Russian users. The problem affected owners of Skoda, Kia, Infiniti, Nissan and Renault. Now they cannot remotely unlock the doors of the car, start the engine, see the remaining fuel, and also update the programs that control the operation of the engine, ABS and brake systems.
