The United States and Great Britain have significantly increased the issuance of “talent visas” to Russians

By 2022, the number of O-1 visas issued by the United States to Russian citizens has nearly doubled. If in 2021 247 were issued, then last year – 445. At the same time, in January-February of this year, the Russians received 72 O-1 visas.

The United Kingdom, for its part, has also increased the issuance of visas that allow you to work in the country for five years. In 2021, London issued 72 Global Talent Visas to citizens of the Russian Federation, in 2022, there are already 397.

The Pressfeed news inquiry service and the Relocode relocation agency reported an increase in Russian interest in the Global Talent Visa and O-1 visas.

For the first quarter of 2023, Relocode received 298 US and UK talent visa applications. For the same period last year, there were only 141 applications. Entrepreneurs tend to prefer the US, while IT specialists more often choose the UK.

There has also been an increase in demand to organize posts to get “talent visas,” Pressfeed noted. Since March last year, the number of such calls in some months reaches 10-15, the average number of calls per month is about seven.

This trend has led to the emergence of a new service on the PR market – the preparation of a package of posts for obtaining a visa. On average, five posts will cost 150-200 thousand rubles.
