After Google introduced the Pixel Fold, it remains the only Apple without a foldable model in its arsenal. However, even though the company started working on the flexible display iPhone years ago, it still hasn’t shown it to the public.
It’s worth noting that this approach is unusual for Apple, which prefers to enter established markets with more advanced tools, as with the iPhone in 2007.
According to analyst Juicy Hong, the foldable smartphone segment is not yet significant enough to threaten the share of the iPhone, which held 77% of the smartphone market last year at over $751.
Some experts even believe that Apple’s cautious approach to entering the foldable smartphone market, while unconventional, is in line with the company’s historical strategy.
