One of the results of the Google I/O 2023 conference, in which the IT giant unveiled an updated search engine, was the growth in the fortunes of the company’s co-founders. Larry Page and Sergey Brin are $18 billion richer this week.

Google Co-Founders Get Rich $18 Billion After Successful Company Conference

According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Page’s net worth increased by $9.4 billion this week to $106.9 billion. Sergey Brin added $8.9 billion to his net worth, which now stands at $102.1 billion. This is the largest increase in his net worth since February 2021, the agency emphasizes.

The annual Google I/O conference took place on May 10. In it, the company, confirming insiders from journalists, talked about plans to make its search engine more “conversational”, as well as open access for all users to a voice assistant based on artificial intelligence.

Most of the conference was devoted to developments in the field of AI. During the course, the word “AI” was said 146 times, and shares of Alphabet, Google’s parent company, have risen in price nearly 9% since May 10.
