Meta* and others are not only fueling ban speculation, but also increasing the appeal of TikTok clones by introducing new monetization features for creators. The goal is to reach as many engaged TikTok users as possible.

Digital marketing and content creation experts have expressed concern about the effects of the TikTok ban. They argue that such a ban would not only reduce competition on social media, but also create a less favorable environment for creators.

Some TikTok creators are already taking action. For example, metalhead and military veteran Rick Baker from Montana started posting TikTok videos on Instagram* as a backup plan.

However, many authors find TikTok alternatives inadequate. For example, Montana-based herbalist and cookbook author Spencre McGowan commends TikTok for its supportive and healthy environment for creators and has no intention of returning to Meta*-owned platforms.

*Meta is recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation and is banned, like its products.
