Yandex has implemented the next-generation YandexGPT language model in the Alice virtual assistant, the company said in a statement.
At the expense of the neural network, Alice was taught to write texts and offer ideas.
The new voice assistant function is available in the Yandex application, browser, stations and smart TVs with Alice. To activate the neural network, you need to say “Alice, let’s think about it!”.
A virtual assistant can write a graduation script, write a business letter, suggest a travel plan, wedding gift options, and more.
The company notes that while the technology is in test mode, and therefore “Alice” may be wrong on the facts.
How YandexGPT was taught
The YandexGPT neural network built into Alice was trained on Yandex supercomputers. The training was carried out in two stages.
First, neural networks displayed public texts: book materials, information from websites, articles that were selected using Yandex search technologies.
Then YandexGPT was trained on hundreds of thousands of examples of well-written and meaningful answers. To collect and prepare such examples, the company used its crowdsourcing technologies and a team of AI trainers.
