The Association’s Executive Director, Yevgeny Dudorov, told TASS that the Teledroid robot developed by Androidnaya Tekhnika NPO will be used on the outer surface of the International Space Station and will be controlled from the ship.
Teledroid will run a series of tests in space. The developer stated that the robot can perform some tasks such as grabbing objects and moving them autonomously.
The contract with RSC Energia for the development of the robot was signed at the end of March 2021. A fully functional layout of Teledroid will be ready by the end of 2023, after which it will be tested in lifelike conditions. Dudarev emphasized that there are very few imported components in the device.
