In Russia, 44% of Russians have heard of ChatGPT, another 43% do not know anything about this neural network, only 13% were interested in details. At the same time, more than 50% would like to use the chatbot’s capabilities. This is evidenced by the results of the IOM Anketolog survey, the results of which were reviewed by RB.RU.

More than 50% of Russians would like to use ChatGPT

Reasons for using ChatGPT include searching for information, translating texts, performing routine tasks, generating images, creating plans and calculations, entertaining, creating content, getting medical advice, communicating and writing codes.

At the same time, 41% of Russians see a danger in ChatGPT and believe that their work can have negative consequences. The most common fears are that they could be used by criminals, knowledge simulation, that the neural network could lie, destroy cybersecurity systems, etc.

In Russia, apart from ChatGPT, the following neural networks are also popular:

  • Halfway – 30%
  • Kandinsky 2.1 – 14%
  • “Main room” – 8%
  • DALL-E – 8%
  • Balaboba – 6%
  • character.ai – 5%
  • Stable diffusion – 4%.

The study was conducted from April 26 to May 7 using the Anketolog.ru online panel. The survey involved 2,432 Russians over the age of 18. The sample reflected the sociodemographic parameters of the Russian population. The error at 95% confidence does not exceed 2.5%.
