American engineer Guy DuPont has created “smart” pants that inform the wearer about an open fly via a notification on their smartphone. The device consists of a sensor, a magnet and a microcontroller.
About your development engineer Guy Dupont said in a social media post.
Pants with a device that tells you when your fly is open will help many avoid awkward situations, the developer noted.
The DuPont-developed device consists of a Hall effect sensor, a bra-mounted magnet and a microcontroller that sends an open flight notification to the wearer’s smartphone.
The developer did not say if it plans to commercialize the device. DuPont also said that initially the idea of a “smart” fly was a joke, but after work began on it, it became a real project.
