According to a source, RIA Novosti reports that by June 15, the first batch of new Russian Udav pistols will be assembled at the Izhevsk Mechanical Plant. If the produced pistols meet the declared technical characteristics, their full-scale mass production will begin in Izhevsk.

In this case, Vladimir Yarygin, the leading design engineer of Izhmekh, will be the curator of the production of 9×21 mm pistols. Debugging of the production of “Boas” began in the fall of 2022: specialists from the pistol developer TsNIITOCHMASH, part of the Kalashnikov concern, went to Izhevsk and handed over all the necessary design documentation.

The new self-loading pistol successfully completed the experimental military operation in 2019. They created a new design for an 18-round magazine – ten more than the Makarov pistol – that allows you to visually or tactilely determine how much ammunition is left in it.

It is assumed that by 2024 the Ministry of Defense will purchase more than three thousand “Boas”.
