In Russia, 81% of managers support the transition to a four-day work week. At the same time, only 4% of companies are considering such an opportunity in the next three years alone. This is evidenced by the results of the hh.ru study, with which Izvestia got acquainted.

81% of employers are in favor of reducing working hours

The main advantage of the four-day period is the reduction of employee burnout, the main disadvantage is the need to reduce wages.

At present, Russian companies are not ready for such changes due to an insufficiently stable economy, experts say.

  • In May 2023, “corporate patriots” proposed to introduce a six-day work week in Russia. The initiative is explained by the fact that the need of the Russian financial and economic system for additional investments now remains. The appeal was sent to the Ministry of Labor. In a crisis, this will help increase the strength of the Russian economy, achieve technological and industrial breakthrough, strengthen economic sovereignty and reduce dependence on foreign institutions, the association believes.
