Shutting Down Windows: Here’s Why You’re Getting It Wrong

The problem is in an option called fast boot† With this option, your computer will start faster when you “turn off”. In fact, you are not completely shutting down the system. Instead, you put the system into a kind of short-term hibernation.

The state of the system is stored in the working memory of the computer. As a result, the system boots faster when you turn the computer back on. A useful function for everyday use, but less useful if you want to completely shut down your computer.

Fortunately, we can quickly fix this with a few tweaks. But we can imagine that not everyone will find this attitude. It’s pretty well hidden. And things can get tricky if you don’t know where to look.

One important caveat here is that Fast Startup is not available for every PC. If after reading this article you find that you can’t see the option, your computer will shut down completely after shutting down. Also, when you restart your computer using the button in the Start menu, you will bypass the Quick Startup.

Turn it on to disable Fast Startup Control Board† Open Start, type Control Board and press Enter. go Hardware and sound and bass power management on the button Changing the behavior of the power buttons†

• Click now Change currently unavailable settings
• Now check the options below Shutdown Settings
• Here should be option Enable fast startup (recommended) stop
• isn’t it there? Then the option is not available
• Remove the checkmark (if any)

From this moment on, when you select PC, the computer will shut down completely. Close chooses. So the computer does not go into some kind of hibernation and when you turn the computer back on the system will start fresh. You get the same thing by choosing the Restart option from the Start menu; still, it’s good to know what your computer is doing when you perform a certain action.
