Sometimes while using your Windows laptop, you will suddenly encounter a yellow battery symbol. Don’t worry: you don’t need to replace the battery right away. But what’s going on and what can you do about it?

What exactly does this yellow battery icon do? To draw your attention to a battery problem. You may not immediately understand what exactly is happening. Usually this icon appears when the battery is almost empty. If you have ten percent energy left, you may have already seen that icon.

However, it is also possible for the icon to lift its head when you still have enough juice on your laptop. This sometimes happens when you start a laptop. Fortunately, there are a few solutions you can try.

For example, there may be a problem with an external monitor that you connect via USB-C. When this external display is not getting enough energy from the laptop, a glitch occurs that the laptop doesn’t know how to deal with. Unplug the display and check if the issue is resolved. If not, we’ll keep trying.

Another issue might be that the laptop is powered from a power cord but the battery is not charging. If so, we need a troubleshooter. Open Start and type Additional troubleshooters inside. Call power management Select it in the list of solutions and click. A button will now appear: Run the Troubleshooter. Press this. Let the system do its thing for a while and see what Windows finds.

If the troubleshooter doesn’t help either, check the power management settings. open it Control Board and go Hardware and sound. press now power management and then Program Settings Set. press now Use default settings for this scheme.

Finally, we can try uninstalling and reinstalling the battery driver. Before doing this, we must completely turn off the laptop, unplug the power cord and remove the battery. Now plug the plug back into the laptop and turn it on.

Open Start and type Device Manager inside. Double click on the drivers. Batteries. Right click now Battery compatible with Microsoft AXPI control method.

Select Uninstall device, turn off and unplug your laptop. Now put the battery in the device and turn on your laptop again. After opening, Windows will automatically install the driver.
