This October, Apple may update some of its Macs along with a new M3 chip that is somewhat more powerful than the current SoC; M2, as shown by Mark Gurman, from Bloomberg, in one of their weekly newsletters. But there are a number of specific models, which, unfortunately, will appear only next year..

Gurman, in particular, stated in a new edition of his newsletter that 2024 will be the date that Apple will announce Mac mini with M3 chip. It is not clear, of course, at what time of the year we could see the announcement of this model, as the journalist points out that the company has not even begun to develop it, although it plans to launch a team with such characteristics. It’s also likely that the Mac mini will also include the more powerful M3 Pro chip, following the strategy of the current model, which is available in two flavors, one with the M2 chip and the other with the M2 Pro chip.

In parallel with the Mac mini, Gurman also revealed that next year we may also see two new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros with M3 chips – possibly M3 Pro and M3 Max -. Again, he doesn’t give a specific date, but does state that we’ll “probably” see them in the middle of next year. Perhaps during WWDC 2024: an event where the company announces new equipment for professionals.

We will see new Macs with M3 at the end of 2023

Apple, yes, will continue to release new Mac models this year. The journalist himself Bloomberg It was highlighted a few days ago that the company plans to release new models with the M3 after the summer. I bet on a new one 13 inch Macbook Pro what will come to update the current model with M2.

Also for new 13 inch Macbook Air which would retain the same aspect of the current version, but with a more powerful and efficient SoC. An odd strategy considering the company just released a 15-inch MacBook Air with the M2 chip. However, keep in mind that the 14-inch model has not been updated for more than a year.

Along with the MacBook, we could also see the announcement of a new iMac with M3. It’s unclear if this will come with the new design or screen size. Or instead, it will retain the look and dimensions of an all-in-one Mac panel with an M1 chip.

As for the M3 chip, it is expected to be more powerful and efficient due to new manufacturing process 3 nanometers. Thus, the new Macs will benefit from autonomy and performance, among other improvements that are still unknown.
