Top tech youtuber reveals which is better: iPhone or Android

iPhone or Android? endless question it is still very difficult to answerIn fact, it gets harder every year as each system evolves and adds features it doesn’t have. Systems have traditionally improved on two of the most critical points: iOS has greatly improved customization with widgets and lock screen, and Android has greatly improved in terms of performance.

Maybe we’re not so neutral on iPadizate but one of the top tech YouTubers of course it is. MKBHD, Marques Brownlee made a video comparing iOS vs Android trying to figure out which of the two operating systems is better. And everything is pretty tight.

The definitive comparison between iPhone and Android

In his test, Marques Brownlee decided to buy both operating systems in 7 different categoriesawards the winner to a system in each. It also leaves a very interesting final result. The 7 categories to be analyzed were:

  • Personalization
  • Features
  • easy to use
  • Support/Updates
  • Applications
  • Feeling
  • Ecosystem

Personalization: Android winner

MKBHD appreciates Apple’s strides in customization and states that for the vast majority of users, both systems offer sufficient customization. But, Android more alternatives that’s why in this episode Google shows the operating system as the winner.

You could certainly argue that iOS makes it prettier, but when it comes to more customization, Android will win.

iPhone and Android

Despite the improvement in iPhone customization, Android still has more options

Features: Android winner

This section describes the operating system and device features. This has always been the subject of debate, with Android users saying their smartphone is capable of much more than an iPhone. However, in 2023 there isn’t much that differentiates both systemsThere are things Android doesn’t have, even on iPhone, like focus modes.

But even though both systems are equal at the operating system level, Marques gives Android a winner Due to the multitude of devices on the market that offer different things, ultra fast charging, notchless options, 10x zoom camera.

Ease of Use: iPhone Winner

In this chapter, Apple always had the advantage mainly because it always the same experience since the original iPhone. On Android, each manufacturer has multiple layers of customization, making them not as easy to use as iPhone.

Consider how the vast majority use their phones: iPhone never has bloatware, customer service is basically always better for an iPhone because Apple Stores are everywhere and Apple controls the whole experience. iPhone is always better for people who are not savvy, who just want to buy one thing and don’t think about it anymore.

iPhone is a very user-friendly device.

Support/Updates: iPhone winner

Despite the efforts of Android brands to offer better support, Apple still a lot more software updates than Android companies. iPhone can be updated for 5 or 6 years without any problemsand also Apple continues to offer security updates even after yearsThe iOS 15 update was recently released for the iPhone 6s, which was released in 2015.

Samsung is the undisputed king of Android software updates right now, and there are some rumors that perhaps Google has figured it out. But in 2019, Samsung announced that all devices in 2019 or later will receive four years of security updates, and some flagships will even get five years of security updates, but none of them come close to the iPhone.

Apps: winner iPhone

The topic of apps is always a hot topic, works better on most iPhones. In fact, it is easier for developers to create and optimize an app for iPhone than hundreds of Android apps on the market. There are even Google apps that work better on iPhone than Android. The iPhone won this episode again.

Same Instagram app on both iPhone and Android? As someone who carries and uses both phones and frequently uses the same app on both phones, I know firsthand that app updates and improvements are often a priority on the iPhone, even with Google’s own apps. They’re coming to iPhone before they reach Android.

Emotion: Android Winner

probably this more subjective categorybecause although the presentation of a new iPhone evokes more emotion than any Android. However, brands using the Google system new features such as ultra fast charging or reverse charging Faster than Apple. That’s why, according to Marques Brownlee, Android was the winner.

Ecosystem: iPhone Winner

Apple’s ecosystem is practically unrivaled: iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, AirPods, AirTags, Apple Music, FaceTime, iMessage, Apple Pay, Apple TV+, Apple ArcadeThere are many devices and services the company and they are all integrated. You can start an email on iPhone and continue on Mac, unlock Mac with Apple Watch, AirPods will automatically connect to all devices.

Samsung is perhaps the only one who can come close to this and something similar to what Apple , but Samsung doesn’t control most operating systems as its smartphones and smartwatches use Android and their computers Windows.

I’ll give Apple a bit of an edge because firstly, I’m in the US and that advantage is strong, but secondly, due to fluidity and how well things are integrated, the continuity features aren’t real.

The ecosystem of Apple devices is unrivaled

Winner: iPhone

If we calculate the result is 4 to 3 in favor of the iPhone. iPhone is better in Ease of Use, Support/Updates, Apps, and Ecosystem; Android took first place in the Personalization, Features and Excitement categories.

But, really everything is summarized according to the personal tastes of each user. If someone is looking for a good ecosystem or wants everything to run smoothly for many years, iPhone is the best choice. But if you’re looking for different features like faster charging or reverse charging and customization, Android is the best.
