Some MacBook Pros with M3 chips come with macOS Ventura instead of Sonoma
Apple shipped its new MacBook Pros with the macOS Ventura version, and it looks like they can’t be updated to macOS Sonoma.
Last week, Apple introduced new MacBook Pros and a new iMac equipped with M3, M3 Pro and M3 Max chips, and users who pre-ordered them started receiving them today. Others encountered an unexpected surprise: They came with macOS Ventura instead of macOS Sonoma.
This means that Apple has been storing these new MacBooks somewhere for a long time, as macOS Sonoma is officially released on September 26, so quite a bit of time has already passed. In particular, multiple users Bought a basic 14-inch MacBook Pro with an M3 chip from Apple and noticed it came with an unreleased version of macOS Ventura installed, 13.5. But that’s not the worst.
New Macs can’t install macOS Sonoma

It’s not a serious situation, in fact it’s normal for a device to arrive with an outdated software version. But, It’s even more worrying that they can’t update to the latest version of the system.. And that’s what happens.
When users try to update their new M3 chip MacBook Pro to macOS Sonoma in the System Settings app, Instead of macOS Sonoma 14.1, macOS Ventura 13.5 appears as the latest version availableThis is indeed the system they can use.
Okay, something weird here.

We’re not sure how Apple will fix this issue, but they’ll likely release a minor macOS Ventura update for these Macs. Allow them to install macOS Sonoma. It should be appreciated that the new Mac operating system comes with important new features that these users are not currently able to test.
In macOS Sonoma we now have widgets on the desktop that sync with the iPhone, we have the ability to create web applications, so we can have a Netflix app on the Mac, and there are many other interesting new features.
