He Realme GT5 Pro It is already a reality and it was presented this Thursday, December 7, in China with several innovations reminiscent of the best thing that was once announced by LG and Google: remote palm unlocking.
Realme said palm unlock is faster than facial recognition, thanks in part to machine learning using over 10,000 models.
But that’s not all you can do with your own hands:
A pinch gesture will toggle the recent apps list, and from there you can gently swipe left or right to navigate through recent apps. Holding your index finger up will activate cursor control, and hovering over a point will activate clicking. The three-finger palm gesture allows you to take a screenshot. Rotating your palm will take you back to the home screen. Pointing your thumb to the left alternates the “backward” action. Finally, if you put your palm close to the screen, it will turn off.
The new phone features a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, a 5,400mAh battery with 100W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, and an OLED display with a peak brightness of 4,500 nits. Realme adds that the screen brightness can also reach 1,000 nits through manual adjustment, as well as 1,600 nits of “global maximum brightness.”
On the photography side, you have a 50MP main camera (with Sony LYT-808 sensor; similar to the one found in OnePlus 12), an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera and the same 50-megapixel 3x periscope telephoto lens (with Sony IMX890).
The Realme GT5 Pro is available in China starting at CNY 3,298 or around $460 for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage model, up to a top price of CNY 4,198 or $590 for the 16GB RAM and 1TB storage model. Color options include black for the glass body and orange or gold for the vegan leather options.
