In addition to single-view photos and videos, WhatsApp users will now be able to send voice messages that disappear after listening. The new feature, announced this Thursday (7), promises to bring more privacy to the messenger.
This new feature, which is scheduled for a global launch in the next few days, works similarly to the one launched in 2021 for images. For example, after listening to a received voice message, it will be automatically deleted from the chat.
According to the company, the new feature will allow you to “share confidential information via voice message with more peace of mind, whether you’re sharing your credit card information with a friend or planning a surprise.”
One detail is that, as with photos and videos, Voice messages that disappear after ringing also have a numbered icon to identify them. For the launch, WhatsApp emphasizes that the feature also has end-to-end encryption.
How to send lost voice messages on WhatsApp?
Once this feature is rolled out, users should not notice any difference when recording audio on startup. So, during a call, simply tap and hold the icon or drag it upwards and continue talking.
The main difference occurs after recording audio. According to WhatsApp, it will be possible to select the “Send as a single view” button when sending, which will make the voice message disappear after being heard once.
