Apple expanded its Self-Service Repair program to more devices this Wednesday (13). Now with a new diagnostic tool, the service offers support for iPhone 15 and Mac models with Apple M2 processors.

First Self Service Repair diagnostic tool only available in the United States – It will reach Europe in 2024. This feature can evaluate the status of the device’s software and hardware, such as screen abnormalities, problems with touch, camera, audio output and Face ID.

To use it, the user must put the device into diagnostic mode, enter the serial number into the second device, and follow the manufacturer’s instructions. However, Apple emphasizes that the tool is aimed at users with knowledge and experience in electronic repair.

Additionally, the repair service began servicing more Apple computers and laptops. The platform now includes 14″ and 16″ MacBook Pro models, 15″ MacBook Air, Mac Mini, Mac Pro and Mac Studio with M2 chip.

Apple Repair Program

Apple Self Service Repair has been available since April 2022. The platform allows anyone with experience in electronics repair to access manuals, genuine Apple parts, and diagnostic tools used in Apple Stores to maintain their own devices.

As part of this expansion, the company has expanded the program to 24 more countries in Europe, including Portugal. The program is currently available in 33 countries, 24 languages ​​and supports 35 products.
