Xiaomi mobile phone lovers may see a significant price increase this year with the release of the Chinese company’s new flagship: model 14 Ultra.
Tipster Digital Chat Station stated on Weibo that the Xiaomi 14 Ultra will be a “completely redesigned product” compared to the previous model. The source claims that the phone will feature satellite technology, although it may be limited to China.
Digital Chat Station adds that the phone will feature proprietary technologies in areas such as connectivity, battery and materials. The leaker did not reveal any further details, but Xiaomi phones have previously offered technologies such as an image signal processor and a battery management chip.
All of these add-ons may come with a higher price tag. The source claims that Xiaomi’s bill of materials (BOM) for the Xiaomi 14 Ultra has increased by 700 yuan ($99). They suggest the price will “definitely rise” as a result.
This is not the only data about the Xiaomi 14 Ultra that has emerged in recent days, as the phone’s camera grip was recently certified according to MySmartPrice, with built-in battery. Additionally, a Xiaomi executive recently revealed on Weibo that the company will be moving to a phone with “very, very, very powerful imaging capabilities” in the near future.
