Almost four years after the last update on the line, Samsung launched its new Galaxy Fit 3 smartwatch this Wednesday (21). Previously distributed as a smart bracelet, the new model has a larger screen, a renewed appearance and features that bring it closer to the brand’s latest wearable devices.
Although it is referred to as a watch, Galaxy Fit 3 contains many features of smart bracelets. One of these is the thinner and lighter appearance created to maintain comfort for a long time.
Switching from a 1.1-inch display to 1.6-inch (256 x 402 pixels) AMOLED displays, the device gains gestures similar to the Galaxy Watch series and more than 100 different dials. It is made of aluminum and is available in graphite, silver and rose colors..
The biggest feature of Galaxy Fit 3 is its battery. There is 208 mAh, which according to the company can maintain autonomy for up to 13 days. The proposal is for the device to constantly track and monitor the user’s health.
The watch supports 101 exercises, 6 of which are automatically tracked, and has health sensors that monitor blood oxygenation (SpO2), heart rate, and sleep, including snoring.
It is worth noting that the model has 5ATM and IP68 (against water and dust) certifications, which guarantee resistance to water activities.
Resources to track your health
The emphasis on monitoring users’ sleep has been reinforced with the latest Galaxy Watch 6 series watches, which also bring such advanced features. The company says the goal is to provide useful information to better understand sleep to encourage better practices.
Other features of the Galaxy Fit 3 include tracking cycles and stress levels. It also has a fall detection function, which can alert emergency contact when “an abnormal fall is detected”. When the side button is pressed 5 times, an emergency call is made to 190.
In this model, consumers will also find the option to control the Galaxy mobile phone’s camera and play music, among other features. It can also be used to locate a lost mobile phone and vice versa; In these cases, the bracelet begins to blink and flicker on the screen.
However, since it is a simpler device Galaxy Fit 3 doesn’t have features like NFC or its own GPS for making payments. It runs RTOS system (with 16 MB RAM and 256 MB storage) and although it is compatible with other Android mobile phones, it cannot connect to iPhone either.
The recommended price for Galaxy Fit 3 is R$ 549 and sales will start on Friday (23). The device will compete with models such as the Xiaomi Band 7, which is priced at R$ 469.99 on the brand’s official website, and the Huawei Band 8, which retails for around R$ 399.
