A few days after the announcement of HyperOS coming to older devices Xiaomi surprises us again, although not in the way you expected. The manufacturer has updated the list of models that will not receive the expected update to their new operating system. It contains several jewels such as POCO X3 Pro and Redmi Note 10 Proas well as Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite, released in mid-2021.

The decision not to update these phones to HyperOS associated with the end of its useful life. Xiaomi guarantees Security updates for up to 3 years, although in some models it can be expanded. The manufacturer also makes exceptions to the rule when a very serious security vulnerability is discovered that needs to be fixed.

“We are doing our best to provide continuous security updates to our smartphones, including Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO brands,” Xiaomi notes. “Updates typically include the latest security patches, vulnerability fixes, and other improvements,” he adds. Mobile phones that exceed their useful life (EOL) they will remain without patches and new firmware versions.

The list of terminals that will not receive HyperOS is extensive, and there are some details to consider. For example, the versions of POCO X3 Pro that have appeared are versions from India and Taiwan. The same goes for POCO X3 NFC, which only covers ROMs from Russia, Indonesia and Turkey. There is a small chance that the global and European versions will receive the update, as we saw with the POCO F3 5G.

Redmi Note 10 Pro and Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite are excluded from all possibilities, as well as Redmi Note 10 5G in the version for Mexico.

These are the Xiaomi phones that will not receive HyperOS

Below we leave a list divided by brands and ROM versions. The information is taken from the Xiaomi Security Center website, so this is official data. Because information is constantly being updated, it is important to stay up to date with any changes.
