If you have owned a Xiaomi mobile phone recently 10 yearsthere is a small detail that you will soon miss. The company is currently developing HyperOS 2.0, releasing some details showing that it will be one of the most important updates in its history and confirmation – gradually, of course – on which mobile phones it will be possible to officially install it. In addition, China uses beta phase to allow early adopters to report bugs and improve the operating system.

Well, it was at this stage of testing that one of the the most important disadvantages of HyperOS 2.0. Well, it is not one of the most current ones, but it will attract the attention of many users who have been customizing the home screen of their Xiaomi mobile phone for years.

For many, this will be nonsense, and for those who have used this feature, it will not be a drama, but it is very amazing that Xiaomi has eliminated one of those things that made your software special and no one else had it. What are we talking about? A small but important detail when displaying time.

Xiaomi no longer has its historical (and useful) time widget feature.

That’s right, in the latest HyperOS 2.0 beta, Xiaomi has removed the ability remove time from notification bar when the time widget is active on the home screen. This is a feature that has been available for over 10 years, which was installed as a very interesting detail in MIUI 6 and which now, if nothing significant happens, will be completely removed.

When the time widget is active, the information disappears from the notification panel. If the widget is disabled, it returns to its zone.

For those who are most lost, here is an explanation. Historically, Xiaomi software has been characterized remove time information when it was displayed twice. That is, when the user used the time and date widget on the home screen, the same data disappeared from the upper left part of the interface.

MIUI, and later HyperOS, understood this no one needed to spend double timeso they only showed it in the main widget. It is a detail that no other manufacturer has ever realized and that characterizes the Xiaomi software, taking care of those details that no one else has thought about.

In HyperOS 2.0, despite the widget being configured, the time is displayed twice.

Well, now it disappears. The latest beta version of HyperOS 2.0 has eliminated this detail.and it no longer allows you to even activate it from the device settings. It’s no doubt bad news that Xiaomi has decided to remove this small option, but it’s not one of those features that dictates the use of the operating system or changes the way you use it.

You’re just losing some of the attention that MIUI had back in the day and that looks set to continue in HyperOS 2.0.
