Samsung is scheduled to hold a traditional event in February 2025. Galaxy without packaging where everything will be focused on the new family line Galaxy S25which will lead the elite line of the Korean brand.

And these expectations make it impossible to think long term, but the Asian brand is really putting itself in that position and will be determined to kill the Galaxy S26 before it even sees the light of day.

Why does Samsung want to kill the Galaxy S26?

The rumor, spread by renowned leaker Ice Universe, essentially confirms that Samsung will retire the base model by 2026 and therefore only release the Galaxy S26 Plus and Galaxy S26 Ultra. So the regular Galaxy S26 will forever remain something it couldn’t be.

What Ice Universe says by way of argument in its report on X:

“When OPPO Find X8 is released, you will find that one of the features of the new 2024 flagship is that it is small and powerful. Chinese brands are much better at making small sized mobile phones than Samsung and Apple. You will realize that the Galaxy S25 is no longer worth releasing. The gap between them is too wide. Samsung will take a crushing blow in the coming years, but Apple may still be able to hold on for a while. Because iOS is Apple’s moat, but, strictly speaking, Samsung has no moat and is full of shortcomings. “It is said that Samsung may adjust the S26 series and cancel the S26 because it is no longer competitive.”
