Google has already released Android 15 as a fairly stable system. design but with some interesting new features. It’s a pretty similar strategy to the one Apple followed with iOS 18, but it’s true that customizing iOS 18 might change the operating system a bit. However, An Android 15 feature I like and I think Apple should implement it on the iPhone soon.

iOS and Android are already quite mature operating systems and are slowly introducing improvements and new features. It’s normal for things to get copied between them over time, in fact Android 15 has copied a long-available iOS function. But now it is Apple that must copy this interesting innovation.

We can find our iPhone at any time from the Search application, even if it is turned off or there is no coverage. We can lock it remotely and make it unusable. Apple will even prevent stolen iPhone parts from being used and has added Device Theft Protection.

These are all measures aimed at preventing someone from using our stolen iPhone. And it all works really well. But in Android 15, Google added an innovation that I found really interesting: Theft detection lock.

Basically, this function blocks the device when it detects that it is stolen and you try to escape while running, cycling or driving. The device will automatically lock when it detects thisIt forces the thief to guess the password to use it.

I think this is a great feature. It will definitely help reduce theft. If thieves can’t do anything with the device, they usually lose interest in stealing it. It would be very interesting to see this functionality on the iPhone, along with all the functionality Apple already has.

I don’t think it’s a very difficult feature to implement and Hopefully we’ll see it in a future iOS update. I also think this is something that could be implemented on other Apple devices like the iPad, Apple Watch or MacBook. This type of extra protection will be welcomed by all users.
