An Android fan is switching to iPhone 16 Pro Max for the first time and this is his experience
Switched to iPhone 16 Pro Max after a lifetime of Android smartphones
Switching operating systems from one lifetime to another can be complicated. Although we can transfer all our photos, chats and documents from Android to iPhone, they are different operating systems and devices. And this is what a user does He was using an Android smartphone all his life and that he bought an iPhone 16 Pro Max. This user left his experience on Reddit.
This is my first iPhone and I’ve been an Android user my whole life. I am 30 years old. I’m a fan of Sony smartphones and design. My wife uses a MacBook Air, I use a Surface Pro, and I use Windows at work.
Pros and cons of switching from Android to iOS
Although iOS and Android work similarly in many aspects, the truth is that there are a lot of things that are different. and this something that only someone moving from one system to another can analyze. These are the pros and cons this Reddit user found when switching from Android to the iPhone 16 Pro Max:
Positive aspects:
- Personalization: I’m surprised since I use an iPhone and don’t miss Android (though not entirely because I follow tech news). This may be due to the customization Apple has taken from Android. Widgets, wallpapers, etc. I know it’s new.
- Battery: My iPhone 16 Pro Max is great. I can barely charge it to 100%. I’ve only fully charged it twice in 3 weeks, using it heavily on both occasions: Google Maps, a radar app (I live in Europe), using Spotify for over 4 hours straight, and then using the camera for another 3 hours. Even though it was hours, it did not fall below 20 percent.
- Screen: I’m pleased (coming from a 4K display) and 120Hz is a nice plus.
- Heat: I’ve never had any problems with heat. My last chip was the SD865 and although it can run all applications, it always gets hot in heavy games, which does not happen on the A18 Pro.
- Design and feel: I don’t think it’s too big or wide, but overall it’s not bad. The frames are excellent and I love the Dynamic Island feature. The exterior design feels great, it reminds me of Sony in terms of premium quality.
- Camera: There is nothing to complain about. I liked the colors and quality. Night photography is excellent.
Negative aspects: mainly on the software side.
- I can’t access notifications or control panels from the center of the screen like on Android. This forces me to use both hands at all times. I hope Apple copies this feature. Also, reverse gestures only work in a few applications.
- The worst keyboard I’ve ever used. Despite having such a large screen, it does not have a numeric keypad as well as letters. Automatic suggestions suck.
- Selecting and copying is much more complicated than Android.
- I can’t find transparent watches that show free weather like on Android. Applications are limited and expensive. Apps like Widgy are very complex.
These are interesting results; From here we can only recommend some iPhone keyboard tricks to type numbers faster or teach you how to use Widgy to have the Mickey Mouse face of Apple Watch on iPhone, for example.
