Debut of new Poppy with chip M4 are just around the corner and Apple has finally revealed when they will be announced. Contrary to what was initially expected, the people of Cupertino did not hold a special event to present the new equipment in question.

Greg JoswiakApple’s senior vice president of marketing announced via X (Twitter) that there will be “exciting week of announcements”starting next Monday. The post contained direct references to Mac computers in both the text of the tweet and a short accompanying video.

There are currently no details on what order the announcements will be in. Updates to the stable versions of iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1 and macOS 15.1 are confirmed to be released next Monday, but what Joswiak says suggests that the first – or first – Mac with M4 could arrive on the same day. Let’s see if this is true.

Rumors that Apple will release a new Mac M4 in late October have been circulating for quite some time. However, what was striking was that the company did not notify about the event dedicated to them, as is usually the case. Given the promise of an ‘announcement week’, clues point to several separate episodes on different days to create more expectations. It will be interesting to see whether they are all hardware related or not.

What can we expect from the Mac M4 announcement?

The M4 chip will come to the Mac after debuting this year in the iPad Pro, and it will come in three models:

  • Mac mini: Rumors suggest this will be big news, but not just because of the introduction of the M4 chip. According to Mark Gurman, the model will update its appearance and will be much smaller in size than the current version, which will bring its size closer to the Apple TV. It will be released in M4 and M4 Pro versions.
  • MacBook Pro: In terms of design, they will remain in the same line-up as previous generations, in both 14- and 16-inch variants. The smallest model could start with 16GB of RAM, and the base M4 is expected to come with a CPU and GPU with 10 cores each, rather than 8 and 10 (respectively) as was the case with the M3. There will also be M4 Pro and M4 Max variants in both sizes.
  • iMac: The first wave of new M4 Macs will come with this hardware. There aren’t many rumors about this model, but no changes in size or design are expected (it will still be 24 inches). It is expected to arrive with a standard version of Apple’s new chip. In addition, in the initial version it moves to 16 GB of unified memory instead of the previous 8 GB.

The M4 Mac catalog will expand in 2025. Yesterday we told you that MacBook Air with the latest generation of Apple Silicon, it could debut between January and March next year. Updated versions Mac studio And Mac proalthough they will arrive mid and late next year respectively.

Since the logo Joswiak shared incorporates the vibrancy and colors of the new Siri, which we already saw in the iPhone 16 event invite, it wouldn’t be strange if some of next week’s announcements focused on features Apple Intelligence and its integration with macOS.
