Built-in standard support Qi2 wireless charging is currently limited to just a few phones on the market, none of which are made by Samsung. However, this may change in the coming weeks with the early release of the series. Galaxy S25although perhaps not as expected.
According to a new report from Finnish company Suomimobiili, the Galaxy S25 series phones will support Qi2 wireless charging, but only with a new magnetic case reportedly made by Samsung. This is the first time the company has created such a case for its flagship phones.

Samsung previously warned that magnetic cases could interfere with the S Pen’s functionality. If this report is correct, Samsung appears to have found a solution to eliminate this interference. He Galaxy S24 Ultra Currently works and comes with S Pen.
Interestingly, another report earlier this week indicated that the Galaxy S25 series will include Built-in support for Qi2 wireless charging.
The Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) announced a new wireless standard, Qi2, at the 2023 Consumer Electronics Show (CES). This standard aims to unite the mobile industry by providing a global standard that improves the usability and efficiency of mobile devices and handheld devices. The Qi2 wireless standard offers faster charging, better efficiency and more versatility than Qi. It’s also compatible with all existing Qi-certified devices, allowing older chargers to be used with new phones.
Since Qi2’s announcement, we haven’t seen a single Android phone that offers native Qi2 support. On the other hand, devices like the recently released OnePlus 13 and Oppo Find X8 Pro have turned to magnetic cases for support as they do not have built-in Qi2 feature. In contrast, Apple’s iPhone 15 and iPhone 16 series support built-in Qi2.
I’d be surprised if Samsung doesn’t announce native Qi2 support in its future flagship phones, especially since Apple included the feature in its last two iPhone lines. The Qi2 standard has been available for almost two years now, and if any Android company were to adopt it first, it would be Samsung.
The Galaxy S25 series is expected to be announced on January 22. Like previous launches like the Galaxy S24 series, the lineup will likely include the regular Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus, and Galaxy S25 Ultra.
