Apple didn’t know it, but in 2009 it introduced what would go down as the worst design in its history. And not because it is ugly, but because it has terrible functionality. We are talking, of course, about Magic mouse. Now the company has been receiving all kinds of accolades for 6 years, as it was only in 2015 that version 2.0 put everything on the ground. 9 years ago Apple released Magic Mouse 2 with battery and charging port.
You already know the history of this product: for almost a decade, it became one of the most disastrous events on the technology scene. Luckily, it looks like the Californian is already put your cards where your mouth is. At least that’s what Mark Gurman says.
The editor wrote in his weekly column What Apple is developing a new mouse, the Magic Mouse. The main difference? The mouse will finally be free of stress through the port on its bottom. This design, which has been accompanying the product for 9 years, prevents overcharging during use. In fact, if you’ve ever used Magic Mouse, you’ll be very familiar with the following image.
Apple is going to calm down: its worst design will be 10 years old in 2025
This is great news, no doubt, but it comes with some less-than-promising dates. According to Gurman, Apple won’t implement the change until mid-2026.so we still have another year and a half of poorly designed Magic Mouse ahead of us.
Other news Magic Mouse 3 unknown, although changing the connector position results in slight modification to overall aesthetics. As they say, we have to wait for now, although Gurman’s words calm the waters. Sooner or later Apple had to give in, and now we know it will happen in 2026.
Other updates for 2025
Now good old Mark has not only named a possible date and change for Magic Mouse 3, but also revealed the surprises of the coming 2025. According to him, Apple is preparing a new AirTag.

This AirTag 2 will come with new version of Ultra Wideband chipwhich is responsible for careful monitoring to pinpoint its location. In fact, Gourmet dares to reveal the distance is 3 times greater than the current one, as well as significant privacy improvements and direct support for being found using Android devices.
Mid-2025 will be the date chosen by Apple for show AirTag update which, although it will offer interesting new features, may closely replicate the design of the current tracker.
