Apple released four iPhone models in 2024, the iPhone SE is not released this year because the fourth generation will be postponed to 2025. But there are many versions to choose from. And personally I’m sticking with the iPhone 16. It is NOT the iPhone I bought out of curiosity and I will explain why below.

If you are a regular iPadizate reader, you know that I recently purchased the iPhone 16 Pro Max and shared an in-depth analysis of its usage a month later. So how is it not my favorite iPhone of 2024?

Anyway, let’s get straight to the point. iPhone 16 Pro Max is a high-performance mobile phone with much superior features than the basic iPhone 16 models. However, there are not many differences compared to the iPhone 15 Pro Max. Yes, it has a more powerful A18 Pro processor, a larger capacity battery, and other minor improvements in hardware components such as the 48 MP sensor of its ultra-wide-angle lens. But that doesn’t seem to be enough to make him my favorite of 2024.

Why did I buy the iPhone 16 Pro Max?

On the other hand, now I thought: I bought a high-end phone that will last me a few years and I wanted to enjoy it as much as possible. Also for business and for all the comforts it on a daily basis. For a few hundred Euros more you get more power, more battery, larger dimensions, etc. While I have an iPhone 16 Pro Max, I didn’t find it logical to buy an iPhone 16 no matter how much I loved it.

But what I actually like is the iPhone 16.

While the iPhone 16 Pro Max is the smarter option when it comes to increasing my productivity and awakening my creativity, the iPhone 16 is the phone that captivates my senses. Maybe this is a design reason, or maybe just maybe it’s just a matter of rebellion.

Why do I like iPhone 16 more?

By the way, this is a functionality that I really like and adds a very interesting touch to the phone.

At first I thought this would be a typical silly function that is very nice to use in the beginning, but as the weeks go by you start to hate and forget about it. It’s been almost three months since I bought the iPhone 16 Pro Max, and I must admit that I still use Camera Control almost every day. It’s only accidentally been activated a few times when trying to pick up the iPhone from a slightly awkward position, and I find it to be a very useful shortcut.
