This is a similar tool to the satellite emergency SMS that Apple introduced starting with the iPhone 14. It works integrated with the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip that powers the Galaxy S25 handsets and depends on the specific hardware to be activated.

Feature not available yet

Interestingly, Samsung did not comment on the satellite messaging service during the Galaxy S25 launch at the Unpacked event. One of the possibilities of the feature not being available at the conference is that it will not be immediately available on new mobile phones.

according to SamMobile, The South Korean giant still needs to confirm its partnerships with satellite companies to make Snapdragon Satellite available on its devices. This will also depend on the resource being approved by regulatory bodies for launch.
