The Nothing phone (1) is without a doubt one of the most anticipated phones of the year. And not just because of the campaign. hype they escaped from Karl Pei’s new company. The product, as we noted in its analysis, is quite interesting from several points of view. However, that good feeling is in the shade complaints from some early buyerswho found bugs on the screens of their devices.

There are two problems that have been identified so far in social networks. One side, green tint in certain areas of the screen and on the other hand, defective pixels around the hole through which the front camera exits.

One of the key questions that is currently unanswered is what percentage of the total number of Nothing Phones (1) shipped suffer from any of these problems. Is it a specific batch, very isolated cases, or a recurring failure in the production chain? The brand, for now, has not made this publicly clear. The device we had access to hypertextat least for now, does not suffer from any of these problems.

The problem of scaling the production of a product like Nothing Phone (1)

Scale production without errors always one of the biggest challenges tech companies face. Tesla, a car manufacturer, is a prime example of this. Bringing the car to perfection is relatively easy. On the other hand, doing it at scale, at speed, and without errors is a much more difficult task. Even Elon Musk himself admitted this more than once.

So it won’t be a surprise if a start-up company like Nothing encounters some difficulties in the manufacturing process of the Nothing phone (1). Especially with the first transfers.

The positive side is that Although Nothing is a new company and Nothing Phone (1) is its first mobile phone, the people who work for it are not newbies.. Carl Pei, its CEO, co-founded OnePlus. And the team includes people from other companies in the mobile communications sector. So while some parts may need to be lubricated early in production, the people involved in these processes likely have the resources and experience to effectively clear any potential blockages in the production line.

In any case, however, it is important to emphasize that it is currently unknown whether the number of units affected by any of these failures is a small percentage of the total number of units delivered, or, conversely, is an incident of a larger scale.

The number of delivered units, we recall, is still declining, because. Nothing phone (1) reaches many sales channels until July 21 next year. Currently, units are being delivered that were reserved by invitation before the official presentation of the product. As phones get more customers, a clearer picture of the real extent of the problem can be gained.
