Installing the first beta versions of new iOS versions can be a real adventure. Especially if you decide to do it on your iPhone for personal use. Yes, not everyone has an extra one, and if you want to try out the new changes, there are few options. However, in the case of iOS 16 maybe you should wait a little longer to experiment. And the fact is that although the new version is full of improvements, it can also have quite a few bugs.

Of course, this is to be expected. After all, it is an operating system in development. It’s normal for it to have bugs and that’s why beta versions are released. With it, companies give you the opportunity to test new features and report bugs in the system so that it can be polished as much as possible by the release date.

Today, based on personal experience, we have prepared for you a selection Reasons Why You Shouldn’t Update to iOS 16 Beta. You can decide whichever you want, and we even have a tutorial on how to install it on your iPhone if you want to. Of course, you might like to take a look at our first beta impressions after a week of use.

The most common issues in the first public beta of iOS 16

The installation process was quick, and within a couple of minutes, iOS 16 was running on my iPhone. Of course, the first thing I did was update the lock screen and try out some of the new features that Apple didn’t mention in the presentation. Until now, everything seemed to be going pretty well.

And so it was for a couple of days. Actually, I was very surprised at how stable this first beta was. iOS 16. The iPhone might have gotten a little hotter than before, but that was nothing compared to my super-powerful lock screen.

end of honeymoon

Days went by and I thought the experience would get better. Unfortunately, it was the other way around. it some of the most common problems which I encountered in the first week of working with iOS 16.

  • iphone overheating. Yes, this is one of those things that everyone talks about when installing a beta. But you really don’t know how annoying it is until you experience it for yourself. Also, due to the high temperatures that are experienced this summer, the experience becomes much more uncomfortable. This wouldn’t be such a big problem if I didn’t know that heat is one of the biggest enemies of any device’s battery.
  • ephemeral battery. Of course, the constant high temperature in your iPhone leads to shortened battery life. At the time of writing this post, my device had 100% battery health. However, this did not stop me from using iOS 16. I went from charging my iPhone once a day to doing this up to three or more times. The download speed is terrible and this is probably the main reason why I decided to leave the beta.
Using the iOS 16 App
  • Apps that never stop working. In battery usage stats, iOS 16 shows Twitter running almost two and a half hours on screen… but ten and a half hours in the background. WhatsApp is another one of those affected, with 52 minutes on screen and 11 hours with 6 minutes in the background. Even the application map ancient ring it consumed 8 minutes on the screen and an hour and a half in the background. There is no doubt why the battery lasts just like a sigh.
  • Application stability issues. Of course, this is understandable, but keep this in mind if you want to upgrade. Applications may behave differently than in stable versions or may close abruptly, so if you depend on one of them for your daily tasks or activities, think twice.
  • System stability issues. The same as the previous point. Also, if you use the accessibility features of your iPhone for day-to-day work, it’s best to wait for the stable release or better beta releases.
