One of the great things about the latest iOS 16 beta is the inclusion of a new battery indicator, which, like in terminals with a home button, allows you to see the percentage of battery left at a glance. However, not all terminals will be compatible with this new option.
And it’s that this is a long-awaited feature that disappeared with the advent of Face ID due to the need to cut out interface elements to accommodate excavation. Now Apple has changed its mind, and since supposedly there will be more space with the iPhone 14 (according to rumors), the company wanted to return it back. Nonetheless, It will also come to previous iPhones, though not all. Again, for space reasons.
The fifth developer beta of iOS 16 includes a new option that allows users to always show the battery percentage in the status bar, but it only appears on some iPhones. In which? Well, in most of them yes, but there are others that are incompatible.
All iPhones are compatible with the iOS 16 battery indicator
Here is a list of iPhones that will get the ability to display battery percentage right on the status bar:
- iPhone 13 ProMax
- iphone 13 pro
- iPhone 13
- iPhone 12 ProMax
- iPhone 12 Pro
- iphone 12
- iphone 11pro
- iPhone 11 ProMax
- iphone xs
- iPhone XSMax
- iphone x
If you take a look at the list, you may have noticed that two models are missing. Indeed, neither the iPhone 12 mini nor the iPhone 13 mini is compatible with the new battery indicator. Neither iPhone 11 nor iPhone XR they have a battery percentage option.
Although it is still a beta version and may reach other terminals, all indications are that the new option is limited to iPhones with an OLED screen. It’s not entirely clear if this is due to pixel density or simply because Apple decided not to use LCD screen terminals that are no longer in use, with the exception of the iPhone SE, which, having a home button, always shows the option of both battery percentages.
