Recently, separation from Olivia Wilde (Casa, Lar) and Jason Sudeikis (Ted Lasso) was widely seen in tabloids around the world. But the story won another chapter this Tuesday (18), and an unusual piece of information caught our attention: involvement of an Apple Watch at the end of the relationship.
According to the information announced by the ex-nanny of the couple’s children, the actor would learn about Wilde’s alleged relationship with actor and singer Harry Styles by reading the messages between the two on the actress’s Apple Watch.
It is worth noting that the Apple device allows the user to access conversations, photos, audios and videos directly from the watch screen without needing to access the iPhone. The family’s former nanny did not reveal whether the player already knew the passcode of the device or whether the watch was unlocked by default.
With the reaction, the couple spoke out together against the former employee’s attitude. “As parents, it’s incredibly upsetting to know that a former nanny of our two young children would choose to make such false and inappropriate accusations against us,” the couple told CNN.
“We will now continue to focus on raising and protecting our children in the sincere hope that she has chosen to leave our family alone.”
Wearables expose betrayals
It’s worth noting that this won’t be the first time a wearable has become the device that reveals a betrayal. Recently, Brazilian Apple Watch users recalled a case on Twitter where a model discovered explanatory messages on her spouse’s Apple Watch.
However, an even more surprising case occurred in 2019 with journalist Jane Slater: she discovered a betrayal after confirming that her boyfriend’s Fitbit bracelet data showed records of “physical activity” during the night when she should have been alone.
