new Refresh from Windows 11 22H2 finally launches improvements in Task bar and File manager which many have been waiting for.
It seems a little strange that Microsoft is launching Refresh “in parts”, but it’s better than releasing everything together with bugs. The semi-annual Windows 11 22H2 update was disappointing because almost all the promised news was delayed. Luckily we didn’t have to wait long. Today we have two or three interesting ones.
This is a cumulative update for Windows 11 Version 22H2 for x64-based systems (KB5019509), which is starting to roll out to users.
Windows 11 22H2: File Explorer and Taskbar improvements
Windows 11 released a new one today proposed actions related to dates and phone number.
For example, when there are phone numbers or future dates in text, Windows highlights them, making it easy to click and call using Phone Link, Teams, or Skype, or click to schedule a meeting by adding an event to the Calendar.
Improved Explorer
Finally File Explorer adds the requested tabsto organize your files and easily switch between folders. There is a new section favorites which is perfect for pinning your most used files.
Tabs allow you to customize how you access files and help you keep your most used files and folders close at hand:
taskbar overflow
The taskbar gets two improvements. First of all, if you like pin apps to the taskbar but Windows 11 doesn’t want you to fill the bar despite that is what you want, now it keeps hiding them but showing extra menu which allows you to see all your crowded apps in one space.
Second, by clicking the right mouse button on task barIn addition to the taskbar settings, you will also see the option to go directly to the task manager.
Unfortunately, Microsoft continues to ignore the request of desktop users with a large monitor to allow folders to overflow in the taskbar when several are open, rather than hide one under another. By the way, something yes, it allows you to do Windows 10.
Since Microsoft only sells laptops and tablets with small screens, Windows 11 is designed for them. So nothing to allow showing all open folders on the taskbar, even if you’re using a large monitor where they all fit. Giving users a choice stopped being an option when Windows became free.
New Photos app… coming soon
The press release also announced Photos app updateBut it won’t show up until the end of the month.
Make changes to the design display the photo gallery in a more attractive way. Also a new experience Respectfully which creates compilations of images of the highlights of your life, the time you spent with your loved ones, etc.
In short, one Refresh wondering from File browser With new update Added to Windows 11 22H2and minor improvements to the taskbar, while the really big issues affecting monitor users remain unresolved.
