According to the report, bill of materials (list of materials/BoM) iphone 14 Professional Max worth $474. value 3.7% higher than its components iPhone 13 Pro Max. Data released by consulting firm Counterpoint considers a 128GB version.
Among the listed ingredients, A16 Bionic processor corresponds to 20% of the total value of materials. Despite being more expensive than the A15, the connectivity components of the iPhone 14 Pro Max are cheaper, which covers the final cost of the project.
The report does not take into account the cost of processes
For comparison purposes, the iPhone 14 Pro Max is available in the US market for $1,099. The price is the same as applied at the launch of the previous model.
However report does not take into account other production costs such as assembly lines and quality testing. Therefore, almost half of the final price of the product can only correspond to the value of the internal components.
The parts with the highest price increase are mostly manufactured from abroad. The display with Always-On functionality is produced by Samsung, while the 48 MP main camera, modules and lens set are provided by Sony, LG and other companies.
According to Counterpoint’s estimate, only 22% of the material cost for the iPhone 14 Pro Max is Apple’s internal manufacturing components when considering the value of the processor.
