Apple Just Released iOS 16.4 Developer Beta. One of its main innovations is that it is accompanied new emoticon. Therefore, iPhone and iPad owners will have new ways to express themselves after the release of the final version of the update.

According to information from MacRumors, there are 20 new emoticons which will appear with iOS 16.4. They are all part of the 15.0 update announced by the Unicode Consortium in mid-2022.

Mainly dominated new animal emoji. Now we have an elk, a donkey, a jellyfish, a goose and a black bird. Hearts take on new colors: blue, gray and a new shade of pink. The trembling face finally makes its debut, in addition to hyacinth, ginger, pea, fan, comb, flute and maracas.

Today, emojis are a fundamental part of text conversations. This is the perfect way to express emotions, which is why various companies and platforms are prioritizing the constant release of new emojis.

However, the above does not mean that Apple and Google, to name but a few, are free to run the desired emoji. All depends on the Unicode Consortiumwhose responsibility it is to have a standard to ensure that new emojis are everywhere.

Thus, users have access to new expression suggestions, regardless of the operating system they are using. Of course, each company can resort to its own visual style to distinguish itself from others.

In the case of iOS, those in Cupertino are already accustomed to the fact that each new version of the operating system brings with it new emojis. However, there has been a slight change this year, as news in this area has not waited for the 16.4 update. In previous years they were available in advance. We don’t know why they arrived later.

Keep in mind that the new emojis are currently only available in the iOS 16.4 developer beta. In the coming days, there will be a public beta and finally a stable version for all users.

For its part, the Unicode Consortium does not know peace. At the moment, work on another wave of new emoji, which is likely to be introduced in July. Once approved by all members of the body, companies will get the green light to integrate them into their own systems.
