The device in question made headlines earlier this month when owner Karen Green put it up for auction at LCG Auctions. Evaluators estimated that the device could fetch up to $50,000, as it’s rare to find an original iPhone still sealed in the box.

The mobile has a 3.5” screen, 2MP camera and 8GB of storage – the highest capacity option as the same iPhone was launched with the 4GB option. The iPhone was launched in June 2007 at a suggested retail price of $599. It would have been exorbitant if Green’s wife had bought the device, but this particular iPhone was free for her.

interesting story

The iPhone, which sold for hundreds of thousands of reais, was a gift to Karen Green by colleagues in 2007 while she was working at a pet store. She chose not to turn on the device since she already had a mobile phone.

Years later, Green saw an iPhone selling for $10,000 on eBay and realized he had something of great value.

He waited as long as he could, and now he’s auctioning off his iPhone to help pay for his new venture, the tattoo parlor. Certainly, $63,000 will go a long way in helping you with your endeavours.
