If you live with your family, at some point you will be woken up by an alarm from someone else’s iPhone or iPad. And, due to life circumstances, the owner does not turn it off. This can be especially annoying especially those forgotten alarm clocks in the early hours of the morning. Well, if you use Apple Family Sharing, you can turn off any alarm remotely by asking Siri, even if it’s not your iPhone.

The first requirement, of course, is that the other person’s iPhone and iPad be part of the same iCloud family. That is, it will not work to turn off a stranger’s alarm, it must be a family member using the same Apple Family account (which is also used to exchange subscriptions).

It’s not something that Apple advertised too much, and in fact, if you’re diving for the company’s support, it’s not mentioned. But on Reddit, who are experts at finding these “tricks”, they found that you can turn off another iPhone or iPad’s alarm. using Siri or HomePod set up on the same family network.

How to turn off the alarm on iPhone remotely

The process is very simple. Once the devices are set up with Family Sharing, all you have to do is ask Siri from any other device set up in the same family to turn off the alarm that is ringing on the other device. It works with iPhone, iPad, Mac or HomePod. AndThe only requirement is that the devices, both the one that rings and the one from which we want to turn off the alarm, are in the same Family.

From now on, whenever you wake up to a continuous alarm that doesn’t belong to you and its owner is in the shower doing nothing to keep your iPhone from ringing non-stop, just say: “Hey Siri, turn off your iPhone alarm for…” (or whatever iPhone name is) and you’re done.

Siri will always ask you for confirmation to check if you really want to turn off the alarm. If everything goes well, the alarm will be disabled immediately. Again, note that this only works if the noisy iPhone in question is owned by someone, including the iCloud family. And this will only work if we correctly pronounce the name that the person uses to identify themselves in the family or iCloud, and not some pseudonym.

Another thing is that this is a function for home use, so be sure to both people are on the same Wi-Fi network. not worth it troll from a distance.
