Motorola has stepped in well with premium devices like the foldable Razr 2022 and Edge 30 Ultra, but on average, especially in the Moto G series, it has an outstanding sales record. Actually, in this article we will touch on the first impressions of the new Moto G53.
The Chicago-based firm says it has sold more than 150 million Moto G units since the Moto G launched in 2013.
Along with the Moto G53, Motorola also brought the Moto G13 and Moto G23 to Mexico. The middle sibling, the G23, while having a staggering 5,000mAh battery and 33W fast charging, makes sacrifices like refresh rate (90Hz) and RAM (4GB).
The younger brother, G13, does not differ significantly from G23. Let’s just say the important spec it doesn’t have is 33W fast charging.
Without further ado, let’s move on to first impressions of the Moto G53, the best member of this trio, especially for its connectivity and performance.
sober design
The first thing we like is that the mobile phone can be comfortably handled even with one hand, which is good news for people who prefer not to put a case on their phone. The polymer coating on the back of the Moto G53 is matte and takes on a different hue when light is reflected.
Tactile fingerprints will not pose a serious problem for the “back” side of the smartphone, as it manages to effectively hide them.
All buttons are moved to the right side of the device: a pair that allows you to adjust the volume, and another that combines the function of turning off and unlocking the device (fingerprint sensor).
On the sides of the USB-C charging port are a 3.5mm input for wired headphones and one of the audio channels.
The rear camera module barely stands out, so it’s also an element that contributes to Motorola’s new member of the mid-range’s austere and straightforward design.
good size display
In simple specifications, a cell phone screen consists of a 6.5-inch HD+ resolution panel, which is large enough to comfortably view a variety of content, from websites to streaming series and movies. The refresh rate is 120W, which means the image is updated 120 times per second.
It’s amazing that HD or HD+ resolution cell phones still exist when several manufacturers have decided to set Full HD as the basis.
While the multimedia viewing experience on the Moto G53 is favourable, we can’t deny that some parts of the series don’t achieve high levels of contrast or certain colors.
The sound that is added when it’s time to enjoy a chapter is stereo (Dolby Atmos), so it doesn’t matter if you once forget your headphones, which can be wireless or wired.
Reaction and autonomy
Inside the Moto G53 is a Snapdragon 480+ processor and 6GB of RAM, elements that help the mobile phone run both mobile apps and entertainment.
When browsing the web, it also provides interesting performance, that is, on a page containing photos and videos, they will be displayed without delay. Curiously, we do not find the same when scrolling through the overall interface of the smartphone, despite the fact that the refresh rate is at its highest; You don’t feel wonderful fluidity as you move from one section to the next.
Motorola
What can be said about its autonomy? Motorola offers a 5,000 mAh battery that is more than enough to get through a tough day that includes everything from running apps of all kinds to streaming music. Its charge, unfortunately, is not enough: 20 W (what Motorola includes in the package of the corresponding charger).
Finally, on the connectivity front, the Moto G53 connects to the 5G network to quickly download apps or watch a YouTube clip while you’re moving from one place to another. It does not support Wi-Fi 6, but this does not affect the user experience.
Optics
The Moto G53 lacks optics, which stands out with its many lenses. You have to settle for a dual camera with a 50MP sensor.
In our first tests, and as is the case with most phones in Motorola’s price range, the best photos come from favorable lighting conditions.
Item details and accurate colors stand out in outdoor images. The bokeh effect should also be recognized: it contributes to the fact that the photos are ready to show off on social networks.
The camera app interface offers many options, from dual video capture to the ability to capture 50MP images, as well as setting options for photos and recordings.
first findings
Although the Moto G53 is in the middle range, it cannot be put at the top of this segment because its functions are separated, if that needs to be explained somehow. That is, although we find a screen with a refresh rate of 120Hz, its resolution is HD+.
The same thing happens when you look at its 5,000mAh battery, a capacity that can be the backbone of more expensive mobile phones. Its fast charging is only 20W.
Either way, it’s still a great buy for those looking for a balanced job with a finish that looks and feels good without having to spend over 5000 Mexican pesos. It is available in blue and silver.
