Google announces its smartphone pixel 7a An event held this Wednesday (10) at Google I/O 2023. Search Giant’s new mid-range phone offers a breakthrough compared to its predecessor, the Pixel 6a.
Visually, the mobile follows the design of the top-ranking Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. This includes the display with a horizontal module for the rear dual camera and a hole for the front camera centered at the top.
But as a “budget” option, the Pixel 7a has a plastic coating. As a result, the device weighs in at 193 grams, which is slightly lighter than the models the company launched in 2022.

Internally, the Google Pixel 7a is powered by the proprietary Google Tensor G2 chipset. Focusing on performance and efficiency, this processor is the same processor as the best-in-class Pixel 7.
On the memory side, the device with 8 GB of RAM offers 128 GB or 256 GB internal storage options. Also, the phone comes with “pure” Android 13 out of the box and great tech guarantees at least five years of updates.
With thicker bezels, Pixel 7a features a 6.1-inch flat OLED display with Full HD+ resolution (2400 x 1080 pixels). Providing more fluency in the display of images, the screen has a variable refresh rate up to 90 Hz.

Promising “the best photos of the Pixel a series”, the Pixel 7a features a 64MP main sensor and a 13MP ultra-wide-angle dual rear camera. Another highlight of the set is the Super Resolution Zoom feature up to 8x.
The phone, which can record 4K images, has a 13 MP front camera for selfies and video calls. Also, users can use Google Photos app’s special functions like Magic Eraser and Photo Unblur to edit images.
Pixel 7a uses a 4,385 mAh battery. When activating the Extreme Saver Battery mod, it can have up to 72 hours of autonomy. In addition to 30W fast wired charging, this will be the first phone in the Pixel A series to support wireless charging.
Digital security and waterproofing
With multiple layers of protection, Pixel 7a is equipped with the Titan M2 security chip. Moreover, Google One subscribers can use local VPN as another tool to secure their online activities.
Despite being a budget device, the model is IP67 certified for water and dust resistance. As extra features on the mobile phone, there is a biometric sensor under the screen, stereo speakers, NFC connection and USB-C port.
How much does the Google Pixel 7a cost?
The Google Pixel 7a enters the North American market in a variety of colors, including the brand new “coral”. In the United States, the device is currently available starting at US$499 (about R$2,498 excluding taxes, in current direct conversion).
Like other models in the Pixel series, there is no forecast for a launch in Brazil.
