Microsoft introduced the Surface Laptop Go 2. As expected, the base model’s processor and storage have been upgraded: under the hood there’s an Intel Tiger Lake chip paired with 4GB of RAM and a 128GB SSD. The compact laptop will be available from 7 June, pre-orders start at 669 euros.
Like its predecessor, the Surface Laptop Go 2 has a 12.4-inch PixelSense touchscreen with a resolution of 1,536 x 1,024. The enclosure also looks identical, with room for a USB type-c, type-a, a headphone jack, and a Surface Connect port. A fingerprint scanner is included in the power button, although it’s not available on the base model.
All variants will be equipped with a hyper-threaded quad-core Intel Core i5-1135G7 that combines a 2.4GHz base clock boost up to 4.2GHz. The webcam could also be improved, but like the regular Surface Laptop Go, it’s a 720p copy with f/2.0 aperture.
