As the release of Nvidia’s next-generation graphics cards approaches, more and more information is emerging. Where we reported yesterday about the power consumption of the RTX 4060, now the tbp of the RTX 4080 is also discussed.

For example, Twitter user Kopite7kimi states that this high-end model can consume up to 420 watts, or 100 W more than the RTX 3080 10 GB (+31%). In terms of power consumption, the RTX 4080’s AD103 GPU will therefore come close to the RTX 3090 Ti with 450 watts per tbp.

According to the pcb codes, the RTX 4080 and 4090 seem to be pin compatible, so Nvidia’s partners can use the same coolers for these GPUs. The RTX 4090 is expected to have a tbp of at least 450 W, which can be boosted to at least 600 watts. According to the latest rumors, Nvidia will release the top model in August/September, followed by the RTX 4080 for weeks in a row.
