DGT has reports with public information about vehicles registered in Spain. These reports contain information about the reliability of the technical inspection or other technical data, including repairs and inspections carried out.
There are several types of reports depending on what you need: Abbreviated, full, technical data, loads, cars in my name, cars without registration and ownership of the vehicle, and only one of them is free. And they are all issued by the General Directorate of Road Traffic.
Step by step, we will cover the main issues of DGT reports. It is very useful, for example, when buying a used car, to check if it has liens, seals, bankruptcy proceedings or any other burden of an administrative or judicial nature.
What does a full DGT report include?
A complete report includes all administrative information, identification of the owner, municipality in which the vehicle is located, ITV history, mileage, number of owners and loads.
As well as technical data, EuroNCAP assessment and maintenance of the requested vehicle. This is important in case you want to get a car that is neither new nor KM0.
How much does a DGT vehicle report cost?
Although all reports are paid, the abbreviated report is free. It offers information on the date of the first registration of the vehicle in Spain and on any incident that would prevent the transfer of the vehicle or its circulation.
The remaining reports, known as detailed reports, cost 8.5 euros and are paid as a corresponding fee.
How long does it take to receive a report from DGT?
There are two possible delivery times. Regular shipping takes about 24 business hours. And expedited delivery takes only 20-30 minutes, never delayed more than an hour. You can request these reports every day of the year, 24 hours a day.
