Dell introduced the Ultrasharp U2723QE and U3223QE earlier this year. These are Dell’s first models to be equipped with LG IPS Black technology. As the name suggests, this has an effect on the black value, but also on the color contrast. The stated contrast value of 1:2,000 is approximately double that of most IPS panels. Also, the color range should be wider, with 98 percent of the DCI-P3 color space and 100 percent sRGB. Ars Technica reports that it’s easy to see that this monitor has a richer contrast than the Apple Studio Display, for example.
Those familiar with Dell UltraSharp monitors won’t be surprised by the other features. Dell U2723QE is 27 inch (U3223QE is 32 inch), 60 Hz 4k hdr monitor with 400 nits brightness and a host of useful ports: displayport 1.4, hdmi 2.0 (with hdcp 2.2), usb-c input with 90W charging, displayport-out and usb -c (10Gbps and 15W) upstream. Plus six USB-a ports (3.2 gen 2 to 10 Gbps, one rechargeable), an Ethernet port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The height of the screen is adjustable and can also be rotated, tilted and swivelled. The coating is silver gray plastic. It is noteworthy that there are no built-in speakers.
The Dell Ultrasharp U2723QE is available starting today. Want one size bigger? Then the U3223QE gives five inches more.
