Windows’ featured search feature will be available to all Windows 11 users in the coming weeks. The feature has been testing for a while on Windows 11 Insider builds and has already been released for Windows 10.

With search highlights, fun facts and interesting events from the past are presented to your search window. Important contacts and files within the organization are displayed for school and work accounts.

Highlights are less noticeable in Windows 11 than in 10; there, short highlights in the search bar appear immediately in the taskbar. With Windows 11, you’ll only see them after clicking the search button. Search highlights can also be turned off completely via Settings -> Privacy & security.

More new features are coming to Windows 11 this fall with the 22H2 update. It remains to be seen if we should get too excited about this: It turns out that none of the much-requested features (assuming the Feedback Hub) such as a floating toolbar or tabs in the explorer are being added.
