Sony expands its portable speaker range with the XE300 and XE200. Both models are compact, but according to the manufacturer, they should guarantee excellent sound thanks to the X-Balanced Speaker Unit and two passive radiators.
With Sony’s proprietary Line-Shape Diffuser technology, music should be evenly distributed with the recommendation to place the speakers vertically. Sony claims that both models are also IP67 rated and should also be resistant to bumps, shocks and scratches.
With a fully charged battery, the XE300 should provide 24 hours of playback and the XE200 for 16 hours. Additionally, the speakers feature Quick Charge; this means that ten minutes of charging should provide 70 minutes of playtime. Thanks to the Battery Care function, the batteries of the speakers should not be overloaded. This feature is Sony | Music Center application.
Sony’s proprietary microphone sensor technology should detect and analyze ambient noise, while echo cancellation should ensure you can have good conversations. Two people can talk at the same time without interrupting one another. The sound can also be muted using the MIC mute button.
Party Connect lets you connect up to 100 compatible wireless speakers via bluetooth to sync music, while the stereo link function makes it possible to connect two speakers wirelessly. This function must also be enabled in the app.
The XE300 will be available from July 2022 and will cost around €200, while the XE200, also available from July, will cost around €150.
